![]() I AM EMBARASSED that we didn’t cut the cord earlier. My teen daughter will be getting her license this month. No wonder why Xfinity is building new retail stores all over. a month – on the low – x 27 years/324 months = $72,900. I will round off the monthly numbers, but I calculate it to come to $225. ANNUALLY! To think, I’ve been with Xfinity/Comcast for 27 years. in total – which includes the Internet with them, as well as various streaming subscriptions). If I continued with Xfinity I would be giving them $225. I’m posting my comments here for one reason: For anyone who might have doubts with cutting the cord – I suggest that you take a cold shower and think about what you can do with the extra money that you will save each month. Needless to say, there is no looking back. We are still a wet behind the ears with this cutting the cord expedition we went with the Roku, and things have not been better. I cancelled ALL of the TV services with Xfinity, I even cancelled the landline phone because uh I can’t even tell you the last time I used that phone line – other than it was “attached” to all of my frequent shopper cards at the supermarkets (LOL). The only one loosing in the end is Xfinity – they are loosing about $225. Hubbie was worried that he would “loose” a channel or two. It’s just like anything else… when you get used to something you know, comfortable no one likes change. We were contemplating cutting the cord for the past few years, but for whatever reason, we never made a move. Needless to say, when I mentioned it to my hubbie, he almost had a baby! This past March (yes, right about that time that the Covid-19 was hitting), Xfinity decided to renew our contract on a month to month basis, which raised the overall monthly bill to almost $350. ![]() E.g.: we were paying $174.99 for ALL of the channels, premium movie channels included, (plus, then add in the internet & speed upgrade, the landline phone, and all of the additional taxes & fees). (+17 years at my prior location = 27 years total.) I’m truly uncertain why it was so important for my hubbie to have “all” of the channels and up until this year, Xfinity always renewed our 2 year contract at the EXPIRING rate. ![]() I’m embarrassed to say that I have been with Xfinity/Comcast for 10 long years at my current location because they were the only game in town. After following your tips, and reviewing the other user’s comments, the transition was very easy. I wanted to let you know that I finally cut the cord with Xfinity.
